Review: The Tradesman Cafe – Moorabbin

Review-Tradesman10

Nestled within the industrial area, this cafe is hard to miss.. The owner Raman Vohra; who himself is a local is living his dream through this cafe..  He had visualised owing a cafe since the time he was working as a chef for others. He says his goal was to own a place which not only served good food but also made good memories for people and gave them an exceptional cafe experience..

This cafe gives a very semi casual feeling; from my words a high end cafe.. Catering to the industrial area the interiors are well matched.. It’s simple yet classic with lots of sunshine, with indoor and outdoor seating arrangements..

Review-Tradesman5

It’s a kid friendly cafe, they have some colouring and playing things to keep the little ones busy..

Review-Tradesman2

It has a vast menu ranging from All Day Breakfast to Lunch, options for little ones, Sweets, Coffee, Tea and Drinks.. it even includes a Gluten free and Vegan options.. The owner prides in saying he uses fresh and local produce..

I visited this cafe along with my family on a busy Sunday afternoon for lunch..

The toughest decision was to order, everything looked so good and tempting it took us a while to decide and we ended up ordering

Review-Tradesman4

Prana Masala Chai.. Priced $4.5..

You won’t believe what you would be getting in the mentioned price.. I am a Tea’O’Holic and for me this was a real treat both visually and even for my taste buds.. Awesome presentation where we need to strain our own tea.. The aroma of the fresh tea leaves in the pourer is an awesome way to serve.. It comes along with honey, so we can adjust the sweetness, for me this is a must try drink when you visit here..

My rating for the drink is 4.5/5

Lamb Taco’s that week’s special; price – $19, served 3 decent sized Taco’s

Slow cooked lamb for 12 hours with Rosemary and Garlic, Topped with Mint Saffron Aioli, fresh coriander, mint and carrots..

The lamb just melts in your mouth and was very flavour full and the aioli was a match made in heaven for the lamb.. Very soft taco’s and with one bite you have loads of flavours exploding together

My rating for the dish 4/5

Smashed Avocado, feta, corn, jalapenos, mixed seeds, poached free range eggs on ciabatta bread.. Price – $14.5, served 2 Ciabatta breads, you can add extra bacon to the dish for $4 and this is a Vegan option placed under the All day breakfast option..

The smashed avocado was simple creamy and rightly seasoned, served with well poached eggs.. The bread was little hard for the kids but I guess that’s how the toasted ciabatta would be.. A good option if you are health freak..

My rating for this dish 3/5

Baked eggs with cannellini beans, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, chilli spiked green sauce, shanklish cheese served with ciabatta bread.. Price -$15.5, served with 2 Ciabatta breads, and similar to the earlier one you can add bacon to the dish for $4 and again a vegan option under the all day breakfast section..

The best part of the dish was the casserole it’s served in keep the food warm.. The eggs to me looked more poached than bake, but they were perfect combination with the beans.. Very gooey and soft.. I just loved the flavours of generous sized mushrooms in it and this dish made a very filling breakfast…

My rating for this dish 3.5/5

Slow cooked lamb shoulder with hummus, mixed lentils, mint and chilli cumin honey yogurt.. Priced – $17.5, placed under the lunch section..

This dish is again a combination of various flavours together.. The sweetness of honey, chilli, cumin, soft lentils and the creamy textured hummus.. The lamb is cooked to perfection and melts.. The presentation is again a hit..

My rating for this dish is a 3.5/5

Fried chicken bao with chipotle slaw.. Priced – $14.5, servers 3 bao and is placed under the lunch section..

This was one of my favourites, I have eaten the bao before but this one was so soft and fresh that I wanted more of it.. The blend of soft boa and crunchy moist chicken was a delight to the taste buds…

My rating for this dish is a 4.5/5

Review-Tradesman9

Red Velvet pancakes with mascarpone cheese topped with brownie soil, fresh strawberries, blueberries and vanilla ice-cream.. Priced – $17, servers 3 varies size pancakes and placed under All day breakfast section..

If visually you can eat a dish, then this is the one.. The colour of the red velvet pancakes against the whiteness of the ice cream was so mesmerizing.. This was the Best dish for me here.. Perfectly sweetened, super soft and melting, awesome presentation and freshness of the berries.. This is a dish which would make me come back to The Tradesman.. This perfect dish get’s a perfect score from me..

My rating for this dish 5/5

So if you are in the area or want to have a great cafe experience do visit this place which is open 7 days a week and even has sufficient parking space..
